The 500 Year Journey

On October 15, 2019, Pacific Union College celebrated the “birthday” of this Latin Vulgate Bible. The book in question is a small Latin Bible published in Venice on 15 October 1519, by a Florentine named Luce Antonius de Giunta. Based on the date of publication, the Bible is considered a post-incunable.

The PUC Archives and Special Collections was pleased to turn students’ attention to the Bible on its 500th birthday.

Supervised by the Special Collections Librarian, students with clean, dry hands were encouraged to hold the Bible and experience the historic object for themselves.
