SHERWIN’S deSIGNS:

Silkscreen PUC Posters, 1967-69

The Art of Sherwin Goerlitz

Between 1967 and 1969, Sherwin’s fresh, vivid, and engaging posters papered the halls of PUC. They advertised concerts, elections, weeks of prayer, vespers, and more. Now, after 50 years, the posters have returned to campus, as a gift from Sherwin Goerlitz to the PUC Archives.

According to Academic Dean Milbert Mariano, “These posters are an absolute treasure trove for our design students. They show how design innovation was used with limited technology. They are a wonderful snapshot of the design of the 1960s at PUC.”

In April 2019, Sherwin’s silkscreen designs are once again on display in the lobby of Paulin Hall.
